What Jesus Wants To Do

Dear Christian Life Center Family,

One Sabbath Jesus attended the synagogue in Nazareth. Since he was a Rabbi -- a teacher -- custom dictated that he be invited to preach.
It just so happened on the day Jesus visited the synagogue in Nazareth, the reading was from Isaiah 61. This passage refers to a prophet (the Messiah) who is coming to Israel to do great things.
After Jesus read the words, he rolled up the scroll and sat down to speak, since it was the custom for teachers to teach sitting down. Luke says, "The eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him..." (v. 21) This is how Jesus began his sermon. He said...
(v. 21) "Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing."
This is an important passage of scripture because it tells us what Jesus came to do. It tells us what He was about -- what were His priorities, and what were His goals.
He mentions four things here -- four ministry priorities, so to speak -- and there's a pretty good chance that all four of these things apply to you, because all four of these things apply to everyone. These are the things Jesus came to do.
This Sunday we'll examine these four things and how they apply to us!
Come DISCOVER God and EXPERIENCE His power in LIFE-CHANGING ways this Sunday at Christian Life Center. I look forward to seeing you there.

God Bless,
Pastor Del Smith
